“Leaders must invoke an alchemy of great vision.”- Henry Kissinger

Complacency at work leads to less innovation, less trust and less loyalty within your organization. Are you encouraging change? Is turnover on the rise? Are you making decisions based on intuition and information? Or, only to relieve a sense of anxiety?

Understand The Importance Of Strong LEADERship

Issues with productivity in the workplace arise when your organization lacks a proper balance between management and leadership. But organizations then cultivate and recruit teams that are over-managed and under-led. Great leaders and great managers listen well, are curious, manage their self-talk, and hold themselves accountable for moving the business forward. The ultimate goals are the same – growth for the team and for the company.

In order to lead, sometimes it is necessary to inspire. Leaders invoke the passion and drive into their team in order for hard work to be done. Today, many leaders care more about their positions than the work that is right in front of them. Our titles, age, or departmental role do not define us. Focus is shifting from individual acceleration to purpose-driven teamwork.

Companies reporting strong leadership development programs are 1.5 times more likely to be found atop Fortune magazine’s ‘Most Admired Companies’ list.”

Hewitt’s 2005 study showed 100% of the top 20 companies for leadership development had CEOs who were actively involved in developing leadership talent.

“Organizations with the highest quality leaders were 13 times more likely to outperform their competition in key bottom-line metrics such as financial performance, quality of products and services, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction.” Source: Great Leadership

Leadership Activities To Try At Work

  1. Work on communication.
  2. Stop setting deadlines and shooting down ideas.
  3. Ask, don’t instruct.
  4. Implement employee engagement tools (and USE THEM!)
  5. Consider team building.
